How did you sleep last night?
I thankfully sleep pretty good, however I often find that even after 8 hours sleep, I wake up feeling shattered. And it got me thinking 'why' this happens.
So after factoring in age, life's challenges and perimenopause, I realised that when I have a full night of dreaming. And when I say dreaming, what I mean is, full on, jam packed, busy, sometimes stressful or dreams where I feel pressured or anxious. Those dreams affect my sleep big time. Well, yes thats true, but more than that, they affect how I feel in the morning.
When we have emotional dreams, our brain cant tell what whats real life as in, awake. Or imaginary, when we are asleep. So it produces and releases the same hormones, like the stress hormones, cortisol, and adrenaline! Hence we often wake up with a crashing hormones making us feel exhausted!

I found this fascinating...so I thought Id share it with you.
Do you dream? Do you feel like this ever?
Love Elena xx
