This Too Shall Pass: A Gentle Reflection on Anxiety, Support & What We All Need More Of

Yesterday, I found myself back in hospital to have a kidney-to-bladder stent removed.
It’s not the first time I’ve dealt with medical procedures, but no matter how many times you face the unknown—it’s never easy. And this particular chapter has been a long one. Months of discomfort, worry, appointments, uncertainty. That kind of ongoing stress? It doesn’t just vanish. It sits in the body. It grows into anxiety.
And that’s exactly what I felt yesterday morning—anxiety.
I didn’t know what to expect. I hadn’t been given much information ahead of time, and like many of us, I found myself scrolling Google trying to piece it all together. But the not-knowing was the worst bit. Would it hurt? Would it feel strange? Would I panic halfway through?
As I arrived at the hospital, a kind nurse welcomed me in, took my details, and told me to sit and relax for a few minutes.
I smiled weakly and replied, “Easier said than done when you suffer with health anxiety.”
She gave me a gentle smile back. “You’ll be fine,” she said.
And when she came back to walk me into the room for the procedure, she held my hand. She didn’t have to—but she did. And that small gesture meant the world.
While the doctor and assistant nurse were working, she asked me what I did for a living. I explained that I run a wellbeing business—supporting women through life’s tough spots, through overwhelm, anxiety, change, and self-discovery. She nodded, then said something that stayed with me.
“We need more of that. I’m on Sertraline for anxiety. I’ve suffered with depression & anxiety for years. It’s hard. There just isn’t anything out there…”
Here was a woman, working inside the healthcare system. Surrounded by doctors. Helping people every day. And still, she felt unsupported. Like she had nowhere to turn to really talk. Nowhere to explore how she was truly feeling. No space to figure out what she wanted or needed to move forward.
And it reminded me—again—that so many women feel this way.
We’ve created a world where medication is the go-to fix—but emotional and spiritual support still feels out of reach.
Who do you talk to when the pills don’t solve the root cause?
Where do you go when your soul feels heavy?
How do you start unravelling what’s really going on inside you?
Even on social media, we’re saturated with coaches, therapists, and wellbeing practitioners—but how do you know who’s right for you? Who can hold your story gently, guide you with wisdom, and help you feel like yourself again?
The truth is:
Everyone is carrying something.
Everyone is navigating something.
And even those who seem strong, capable, and “together”… are often quietly struggling, too.
So if you’re in a season of stress, sadness, anxiety or simply feeling stuck—please know this:
You’re not alone. I see you. I hear you. I’ve been there.
And later this year, I’m creating something just for women like you.
A calm, private space where you can breathe again.
A place to explore your thoughts, reconnect to yourself, and begin the kind of healing that lasts.
No pressure. No performance. Just presence.
Because no matter what life is throwing your way right now—
This too shall pass. And when you’re ready, I’ll be here.
With love,
Elena
